Today was weigh-in day... only 2 more weeks left in the competition!
I was 1.5 pounds down from last week. Since I was up 1 pound last week, that means I've only lost .5 pounds in the last two weeks. Less than spectacular. I've been working my booty off... so I'm still leaning towards the idea that I am toning up what I've got.
Over the last week, I attended the Saturday Zumba class and I added the Monday Zumba class. I also finally received my Zumba DVD's (with toning sticks) in the mail on Wednesday, so I did a 45 minute Zumba workout at home.
Tomorrow morning, I am looking forward to another Zumba class. It has definitely become something that I need to get me through the week. It's a great work/life balance to relieve stress and know that I am working towards my weight-loss and healthier lifestyle goal.
This past Monday night I brought my daughter along to the daycare at the health center. She made a new friend and she told me that, even if her new friend isn't there, she would like to come with me because it's fun there. I talk a lot about exercising in front of my kids and make sure that they know why we are going to the health club. I want it to be something that seems normal to them as they grow older - and eventually they will hopefully take on this healthier lifestyle... naturally.
So... With 2 weeks left in the competition, what is my goal? My biggest goal is to get under 200 lbs. Ultimately, I'd love to get down to 190 by the end, but based on how it's been going thus far, I don't think it's realistic to expect a 11.5 pound loss in two weeks. I would love to see myself hit 196 pounds by the March 22 weigh-in.
After this Biggest Loser competition, I absolutely intend to keep up the habits I've acquired since the beginning of this competition. In fact, I really don't think I could stop doing Zumba... it has kind of become an obsession. :)
So... I'm hoping that by next week this time I can report that I am under 200 lbs! And the following week, March 22nd... hopefully 196! One thing is for sure, regardless of what I weigh... I will be continuing on with this weight loss and exercising regularly! I have a girls' weekend in late July to look forward to and it's a hard goal for trying to look my best!

My Weight Loss - Days 12-13
So weigh-in is only a couple days away and, although I'm still doing all the right things, I'm frustrated. I weighed myself on the official scale this morning and I am at the same exact weight from last Friday. Meanwhile, my husband has lost 8 pounds since the beginning of his contest and he, admittedly, has had some meals through work lunches that aren't the best and hasn't worked out as much as he'd like. Grrrr...
But, I guess I can only do what I can do and continue to tweak things as I see them working. Today I did a new Zumba workout for 40 minutes. I made sure to keep it high-intensity throughout the whole workout and I burned 551 calories. Here is the video I did today: http://youtu.be/FO0cQ3iVeEU
Another thing I had heard about before but never looked into was "eating for your blood type." I read about it today and I was so surprised to see how the description seemed to be me to a "T"! (My blood type is A+)
So here is a link for you to read about how your blood type might help you pick a diet that works for you and might explain why your body is different than those around you. It's really interesting!

My Weight Loss- Days 8-11
I want to apologize for not posting after my weigh-in last Friday. I am happy to report that I lost 4 pounds! I could have done better... everyone on my team did better than I did. As a team, we lost 38 pounds! That's exciting. It's almost the size of my 4.5 year old!
This past weekend was my anniversary weekend and I went away with my husband. That is not a good recipe for a diet. Jeff and I aren't very good at following the rules when it's just he and I and no kids. ;) We did make some conscious decisions to this instead of that to try to be good when we could. For instance, we opted for a Subway breakfast sandwich instead of looking for brunch on Sunday morning. Brunch is an instant 2000 calories! haha. We also go out and walked around a bit... tried to be active when we could. I wanted to do some zumba in our room... that didn't happen.
So this week will be all about making up for not being so good. Gonna Zumba my butt of this week... would love if that statement could be literal. :)
